OPTION 1: REGISTERING TO VOTE IN THE NETHERLANDS

If you don’t hold a Dutch passport, but live in the Netherlands, you need to register with your municipality before the closing date for registration on 23 April 2024

Some municipalities offer this online via DigiD, some require you to fill in the Y 32 form (translations here) and return it to your municipality with a copy of a valid identity document. This is a one-off registration. By registering, you declare that you are not voting in another country: Voting in more than one EU member state is not permitted.

Here’s how you do it:

  1. Register online or offline with the official form Y32 and a copy of your ID.

  2. Finish the registration before April 23, 2024.

  3. You will automatically receive your Dutch stempas via post.

  4. On June 6, go and vote for Europe!

Please note that registering with the Y32 form in the Netherlands, doesn’t exempt you from participating in your home country's national elections in the future!

OPTION 2: VOTING IN THE COUNTRY OF YOUR NATIONALITY

You can also vote in the country of your nationality for a candidate who represents your own member state. In this case, you don’t have to make any arrangements here in the Netherlands. But you do have to choose: Voting in more than one member state is not permitted.

Be aware that registration might be required in order to vote in your home country as well. For more information on how to vote in your country, we recommend the website of the European Parliament here.
