Volt en Europadag

Met grote belangstelling nam Volt Den Haag deel aan “Europadag Green & Digital’ gehouden op De Haagse Hogeschool op 23 januari j.l. Tijdens dit evenement werd over de nieuwe Europese Commissie en over de toekomstige stedelijke agenda gesproken. De Nederlandse steden en kennisinstellingen lieten zien hoe zij met een vernieuwende aanpak samenwerken met partners in Nederland en de EU.
Tijdens de deelsessies werd speciaal aandacht besteed aan de digitale verordeningen en richtlijnen van de EU die op de Nederlandse gemeenten veel invloed hebben. Denk hierbij aan de NIS 2 richtlijn, de eIDAS 2.0 verordening en aan de “Interoperable Europe Act”. Dr. Linda B. Louis en Bartosz Krysiak van de Haagse Hogeschool hebben hierover een uitgebreide presentatie gegeven met een duidelijke weergave van de ingrijpende complexiteit van de te verwachten veranderingen.
Volt Den Haag nam actief deel aan de workshop “Feiten en mythen rond lobbyen in de EU” gegeven door Marije Cornelissen, voormalig lid van het Europees Parlement en thans onderzoeker bij European Impact. De deelnemers waren uitgenodigd om hun ervaringen met elkaar te delen en om te vragen hoe EU-beleidsvorming echt in zijn werk gaat. Dit is vaak een complex samenspel tussen diverse betrokkenen, inclusief gemeenten.
Deze Europadag werd georganiseerd door Platform31, het Nationale Contactpunt voor EUI (European Urban Initiative), UAEU (Urban Agenda for the EU) en URBACT en de Lectoraten Future Urban Systems, Changing role of Europe en European Impact van de Haagse Hogeschool.

Europe day
Volt The Hague eagerly participated in ‘Europe Day Green & Digital’, held at De Haagse Hogeschool on 23 January. The event discussed the new European Commission and the future urban agenda. Dutch cities and knowledge institutions showed how they use innovative approaches to work with partners in the Netherlands and the EU.
During the sub-sessions, special attention was paid to the EU digital regulations and directives that greatly impact Dutch municipalities. These include the NIS 2 directive, the eIDAS 2.0 regulation and the ‘Interoperable Europe Act’. Dr Linda B. Louis and Bartosz Krysiak of The Hague University of Applied Sciences gave a comprehensive presentation on this subject, clearly showing the far-reaching complexity of the changes to be expected.
Volt The Hague actively participated in the workshop ‘Facts and myths around lobbying in the EU’ given by Marije Cornelissen, former MEP and currently a researcher at European Impact. Participants were invited to share their experiences and ask how EU policy-making works. This is often a complex interplay between various stakeholders, including municipalities.
