Op 20 januari was de laatste van de vijf sessies van de cursus Politiek Actief in Gouda. Deze cursus, ontwikkeld door de gemeente Gouda op basis van een programma van ProDemos, bood deelnemers een waardevol inzicht in hoe de lokale politiek werkt.

Zes Volt-leden uit Gouda namen deel en vonden het zeker de moeite waard. Tijdens de sessies leerden ze hoe de verschillende verantwoordelijkheden binnen een gemeente liggen, hoe het gemeentebudget is opgebouwd – inclusief inkomsten en uitgaven – en kregen ze praktische tips over het overtuigend overbrengen van standpunten in een speech. Op naar de gemeenteraad in Gouda!

Daarnaast hebben we in het kernteam besloten om langzaam maar zeker over te stappen op Signal voor onze onderlinge communicatie. Gedurende een jaar blijven de WhatsApp- en Signal-groepen nog naast elkaar bestaan, maar na dat jaar willen we het plaatsen van berichten in de WhatsAppgroep beperken tot de beheerders. In de groep op Signal blijft tweerichtingsverkeer bestaan, zodat leden met elkaar in gesprek kunnen blijven.

Update Midden-Holland

On January 20th, the final session of the Politics in Action course in Gouda took place. This course, developed by the Municipality of Gouda based on a ProDemos program, provided participants with valuable insights into how local politics work.

Six Volt members from Gouda participated and found it well worth their time. Throughout the sessions, they learned about the different responsibilities within a municipality and how the municipal budget is structured—including revenues and expenditures—and received practical tips on delivering persuasive speeches. Onward to the Gouda City Council!
