Many candidates from Delft took part in the Volt conference in The Hague. At the conference, members residing in the municipality of Delft were able to vote on the candidates, the election programme and the proposed amendments. Our candidatesDianne Elsinga was elected as the party leader, Bernhard Thieme finished in second place, followed by Floor Drissen in third place. The final results of the candidate elections can be found here. There have been a few changes to the board's recommended list. Patrick Widdows ended up in fourth place and Max Maton in fourteenth place. Ahmed Ali, who was elected in tenth place, subsequently withdrew because he did not feel sufficiently supported. While we respect that decision, it does not mean that we are happy with it. Fortunately, Ahmed has indicated that he wants to continue to work for Volt. As a result of Ahmed's decision, Jef has moved up to 10th place, Max to 12th place and Hidde Hohmann has been elected in 14th place. Our programmeIn addition to the list of candidates, the programme was also finalised. Both amendments received sufficient support. You can find the programme in the documents shared before the conference. In the coming weeks, the candidates will start translating the programme into short messages that will form the basis of the campaign. Important themes from the programme that we will focus on in the campaign are: housing, climate change, culture, safety, and cooperation between residents and the municipality. The results will, of course, be shared with you, so that you, the members and ambassadors of Volt, can also promote these themes in your communities. Our campaign: we could really use your help!Preparations for the campaign are now in full swing. As you have come to expect from Volt, we are going into the elections with a forward-looking and positive message. We could use your help with the following, among other things: - Fundraising: we would like to spend one or two evenings, preferably before the upcoming holidays, calling members to ask for donations because campaigning is expensive. You will receive instructions and support. - Communication: in particular, managing Volt Delft's social media accounts during the campaign period from now until the elections in March. We expect the intensity to increase steadily towards the election date and then decrease rapidly afterwards. - distributing posters, flyers, stickers, etc.: we will determine the details later. Where will we distribute flyers, when will we do so, and how long will we stay there? Will we also put flyers in letterboxes, and if so, how? We would prefer someone to take on the role of coordinator for these activities. Are you interested in any of the above activities? Are you a language virtuoso, salesperson or account manager? Do you have other qualities that you would like to put to use for Volt? Please contact our campaign leader Jef Wintermans at [email protected]. Volt Netherlands ConferenceOn 24 January 2026, Volt Netherlands will organise its next national conference in Utrecht. You will have already received an email about this. The conference will focus on the municipal elections. You are cordially invited to participate in this conference. Members' drinksOur monthly members' drinks will be held on Friday, 12 December, starting at 20:00 at Moeke on Beestenmarkt in Delft. Come along, meet other members and bring non-members too. And no, it's not always just about politics. HolidaysAt the end of a year in which a lot has happened, the core team of Volt Delft wishes all members and their loved ones a very happy holiday season and a prosperous New Year. 'May we start with a great campaign and, hopefully, an excellent result.’ |
