Monthly Get Together November | Theme: the Amsterdam food chain
There are significant differences in Amsterdam when it comes to the accessibility, availability, and consumption of healthy and affordable food. We also import a lot of food from outside the city, while we could reduce those distances if we produced more locally. Moreover, as a city, we throw away far too much food. In short: time to get our teeth into Amsterdam's food supply chain!
Bite-sized chunks
The City of Amsterdam has developed a food strategy and is collaborating with FoodCLIC, a European partnership that conducts research and develops proposals to improve food supply chains. They are looking at cities like Lisbon, Milan, and Barcelona, as well as neighborhoods like Nieuw-West and Zuidoost. FoodCLIC has compiled a number of bite-sized recommendations for our city.
Discuss and share your thoughts!
A FoodCLIC researcher will briefly present some urgent findings. We'll then discuss these statements and perspectives in small groups. We'll also discuss the low-hanging fruit—what we can improve quickly and with minimal investment.
Will we see you on Thursday, November 6th, starting at 19.30h? Please be informed this evening will be in Dutch, although everyone is welcome to participate!
