Ian is an entrepreneur at heart. Optimistic and forward-thinking. Already at eighteen, he had his own business in DJ training and organising events. After studying Business Administration, Pedagogical Didactic Certificate and Political Science, Ian started as a group coordinator at Volt Amsterdam.

Why Volt? 

‘’The positive, progressive, and pan-European elements align perfectly with who I am. As a born pragmatist and radical optimist, Volt is the only party where I can feel at home.‘’

What do you do besides your work as a group representative? 

‘’I work as a group coordinator at the Volt group in Amsterdam. I also study political science at the University of Amsterdam and am chairman of Stichting Achilles, a foundation that organises all kinds of events in the public interest.‘’

What do you want to do for Amsterdam? 

‘’I want Amsterdammers to feel ownership of the city again. ‘Everyone belongs to the world, and the world belongs to everyone’. After all, we must work hard together to make and keep a liveable city. A large group of people do not feel heard or involved; I want to change that. I want to help ensure that every Amsterdammer who feels responsible for or involved in their living environment is empowered to take ownership of it.‘’
