Maastricht: A City for the Residents It Wants, Not the Ones It Has
On Wednesday, October 28, our municipal council member Romy Frijters will participate in a particularly interesting panel discussion at the Sphinx Debatcentrum. Every year, a large number of students come to Maastricht to study, yet the vast majority eventually leave. Why is this? Are we doing enough to retain students after they graduate? Are we creating sufficient space for young professionals? What should the city look like in the future? And are we building it for our current residents—or for a future generation of Maastricht citizens?
